I believe that good design is a combination
After graduating from Harvard University in 1995 with a B.A. in Visual and Environmental Studies, I moved to New York to pursue a career in publishing. I landed a job as a junior designer in the corporate communications department at Hearst Magazines, which handled all marketing materials for their many publications, including Marie Claire, House Beautiful, Good Housekeeping, and O, The Oprah Magazine. In my seven years at Hearst I worked on literally thousands of projects in all areas of marketing design. When I left to move to Boston, I held the position of Creative Director, and had some incredible experience under my belt. In Boston I joined the communications department at Putnam Investments in early 2003, focusing on investor education materials. And in my spare time I took on other design projects — primarily web sites and Flash animations. With the birth of my first child in 2005, I left Putnam to take advantage of the flexible schedule that comes with self-employment. I work primarily with small- to mid-size businesses looking to establish their brand identity through online and printed materials. I love what I do, and look forward to each new collaboration.
